My Difference By Savanna Zucker Age 7

IMG_6276Hi!  My name is Savanna and I am seven years old.  Today is my Mom’s birthday so I wanted to give her this Kid Flaunt as a present because I love her so much.   My Kid Flaunt is about me being adopted.   Adoption means you were born from a different person but they are not your Mom.    I was born in California but I don’t remember that part.  What I do know is that being adopted makes me feel special because that is my difference.    I do know that I love to do back-flips in gymnastics, piano and art and dancing to music.  None of that matters if you are adopted or not.

Once when I was on the monkey bars on the playground at school a girl and boy both came up to me and made fun of me because I am adopted.    The reason they knew I am adopted is because I had told them before about it.  They said I didn’t only have my Mom but that I had two Moms but it wasn’t true so I just ignored them because they are not my friends.   Later I told my Dad about what had happened.

What matters the most to me is that my family will always be there to take care of me and that I am not the same as everyone and that makes me feel important.  If people are lucky like me and my family, they will also love that they have a difference too.
